After the unfortunate retirement from the FIA GT1 World Championship at the Sachsenring in Germany the team around team principal Othmar Welti and team manager Erich Kolb began to reorient themselves.
Swiss Racing Team had competed in Formula 3 for many years before switching to GT motorsports in 2010. The team competed in all races of the new FIA GT1 World Championship with two NISSAN GTRs. Participating with two Lamborghinis Murcielago one year later, in 2011, the team had scored world championship points in every championship race up until the bad crash at the Sachsenring. Both cars were severely damaged in the crash at the German racing circuit which meant that the team was not able to continue competing in the championship.

At the moment several projects in different areas of motorsports are approached.

Team Principal Othmar Welti:
“We had a difficult time after the crash at the Sachsenring. Coming up with solutions for existing problems with the people and companies involved was extremely difficult. That process is still on-going. 2011 was very problematic for our small team.
However, we can look ahead again now and we can actually concentrate on our job. We are currently working on a few projects. We have received several requests from teams for the next year that want to add know-how to their teams. I imagine that we can support teams with our experience and knowledge. Our cooperation with Austrian team Jetalliance Racing proved to be very successful a few years ago.”
